Team Information:
Mrs. Kacy Boadwine - Language Arts
Born and raised in Southern West Virginia, I consider myself a no frills, straightforward kind of person. I graduated with a degree in Journalism Education from Marshall University-- We Are...Marshall!. After getting married and teaching high school English for a year in a small town in Ohio, we moved to Raleigh. We fell in love with the area and all it has to offer and have been here for 9 years with no plans to leave. We now have a 5 year old son entering kindergarten. This will be my 11th year teaching. The last two years I have been an 8th grade ELA teacher at Rolesville Middle. I am excited for the upcoming school year and getting to know my students and their families.

Mr. Shawn Jones - Mathematics
I am originally from the town of Rotterdam in Upstate NY (near Albany), but have lived here in NC with my wife, two sons, father-in-law and crazy cat since June 2008. Our oldest son just graduated from high school last year and is headed off to ECU in August (go Pirates!) while our youngest son is still in high school.
I graduated from SUNY Oneonta with a Bachelor’s Degree in Elementary Education in 1994 (which was the same year I got married- it was a busy year!). After a bit of a break from being a student while I started my teaching career in the Schenectady City School District in NY, I went on to get my Master’s Degree in Reading from SUNY Albany. I am certified in NY and NC to teach Elementary Education (Grades K-6, all subjects) and Middle School Math (Grades 7-9). Here in NC, I taught multiple grade levels at Knightdale Elementary School and Lake Myra Elementary School before coming to RMS to teach 6th Grade Math and Science on Track 2 for three years. I then spent the last two years teaching Math on Track 4 before coming to Track 2/3 this year. |
Mrs. Kari Wilson - Science
I was born and raised in Grand Rapids, Michigan. My teaching certifications are in Elementary Education, Math, and Science (K-8). After graduating from Ferris State University, I moved to Raleigh. I was married in September 2011 and have a daughter who was born in May of 2014 and a son who was born in November of 2016.
Professionally, I taught at Salem Middle School for seven years, teaching a combination of math and science in grades seven and eight. I came to Rolesville Middle in 2013 and am excited to continue teaching 7th grade! |
Mr. Shuler - Social Studies
I have had the privilege of being born and raised right here in Raleigh, NC. My wife and I have known each other since the sixth grade, and we are blessed to have three teenaged sons. Their ages range from 17,15,14, and they keep us very busy, to say the least.
I received my Bachelor of Science degree from Liberty University and my Master of Education from The University of Phoenix. I’ve been working in the education profession for seventeen years. In this time span, I’ve had the privilege of working in a variety of positions within the school system. During this time, I’ve worked as a Substitute Teacher, In-School-Suspension coordinator, Interim seventh Language Arts Teacher, Interim eighth grade Pre-Algebra teacher a Teacher Assistant for Special Programs, and a Middle School Social Studies teacher for Wake County Public Schools. These different positions have offered me the opportunity to work with students with different learning styles, which has given me a better understanding of how to reach each student more effectively. As a result, I have better insight into the needs that the students may have socially and academically. With all this being said, I look forward to getting to know and work with your child this school year. If there is any way that I can assist you, please feel free to contact me. |
